Composition (Per Tablet):

  • Glimepiride 2mg (Sulfonylurea – Insulin Secretagogue)

  • Metformin 500mg (Biguanide – Insulin Sensitizer)

  • Pioglitazone 15mg (Thiazolidinedione – PPAR-γ Agonist)

Safety Profile:
🚫 Contraindications:

  • Type 1 diabetes mellitus

  • Diabetic ketoacidosis

  • Severe renal/hepatic impairment

  • Heart failure (NYHA Class III-IV)

  • Bladder cancer or history of hematuria

⚠️ Monitor For:
• Hypoglycemia (especially during initial therapy)
• Weight gain and fluid retention
• Liver function abnormalities
• Signs of heart failure (edema, shortness of breath)
• Bladder cancer symptoms (hematuria, dysuria)

Drug Interactions:

  • Strong CYP2C8 inhibitors/inducers (affect pioglitazone levels)

  • Alcohol (increased hypoglycemia and lactic acidosis risk)

  • Gemfibrozil (increases pioglitazone concentration)
